About

Our Mission

Help entrepreneurs, professional service providers, and nonprofits to drive reach, engagement, and influence across digital and experiential marketing channels. Phase One builds collaborative insight-led relationships with our clients to empower them to confidently own their authentic voice on and offline.

Meaning Behind The Name

The name Phase One is near and dear to our founder, Meisha Williams Bertels, as it was the name of one of her father’s first entrepreneurial ventures, Phase 1 Lounge.

Opened in the 1980’s, Phase 1 was one of the few Black-owned businesses on the famed University of Alabama “Strip.” Meisha named her company Phase One to reinforce the company’s mission to help clients start and continually grow their businesses in the ever-changing cultural and digital landscape.

Just as the full moon starts out as a Phase One Crescent, our company guides our clients from the formation of their brand identity to the full expression using digital and experiential marketing.
